I decided to do a small and separate post about Taj as I thought it would be odd to combine a post about man made beauty (Taj) with a one on God created beauty (Himalayan vistas).
This was my second attempt to see Taj Mahal. The first attempt was in December 2017 when me and my family were coming back from our Uttrakhand trip and we decided to halt at Agra. December fog played spoilsport and while we did buy the tickets and went inside the Taj complex, we couldn’t see anything beyond few meters. As such, Agra was a pre-decided stopover before moving ahead with my Himalayan adventure.
I reached Agra from Gwalior on Thursday (June 27, 2019) and was hoping to see Taj next day at sunrise. But, got to know that Taj is closed on Fridays. I didn’t have the inclination to spend two days in Agra due to scorching summer heat. I therefore visited Taj the same day.
When you enter the Taj complex, the monument of love is still hidden from you. Only when you enter through Darwaja-i-rouza (gate of the mausoleum), you see the magnificent Taj Mahal standing in front of you. At that moment, I couldn’t help but admire the marvel that this monument is! It is grand and it is beautiful! Someone made this to celebrate his love towards his wife, this fact adds to the beauty of this mausoleum.
As with all beautiful things, what you see is different from what your cameras can capture. Nevertheless, my modest Canon did try and manage the below shots.

After spending couple of hours in the Taj complex, I decided to book a hotel room. There was no way I could have slept in the car in that heat. In fact, the next night at Chandigarh was also in a hotel.
